How long have you been practicing personal injury law?

Kermani LLP was established in 2011 by practicing attorneys Ray Kermani and Mohamad Ahmad. Ray Kermani graduated from law school in 2009 and immediately began practicing law the same year.

Will you personally manage my case, or will it be passed on to another attorney or paralegal in the firm?

Our team is very selective about the cases we take on. We want to get to know you personally so that we have a solid understanding of how your injuries have impacted your life. That said, the primary attorney assigned to your claim will stick with you throughout the whole process. Our firm also has a whole team of lawyers that can help support you, though, so you do get the best of both worlds when you work with our team.

How do you prefer to communicate with clients? How often can I expect updates on my case?

The easiest way to communicate with clients is face-to-face, but we understand that an in-person meeting isn’t always possible or even the best option. That’s why we’re also available via phone and text. You can call our main office at (855) KERMANI during business hours or utilize our texting option directly on our website. If you’d prefer one of our agents reach out to you by phone, then you can use our online form to submit your contact details.

What is your policy on returning calls or emails from clients?

We understand how important and valuable your time is, so our legal team does its best to return calls, emails, or other communications from clients within 2–3 business days. However, we aim to get in touch with clients faster than that.

Are there any upfront costs, and if so, what are they?

No! Our firm understands that you’re already struggling to cope with financial losses after experiencing your accident. We will not charge you any out-of-pocket case expenses ever.

In the event that my case is lost, will I be responsible for any case-related expenses?

After your accident, you’re already struggling with losses. Unfortunately, not every personal injury claim is successful, so you run the risk of losing your legal claim and suffering additional losses on top of what you’re already dealing with when you pursue a case. If that happens, then you won’t be responsible for any case-related expenses other than the medical costs you endured and the other losses you’ve already suffered. Our office won’t ask you to reimburse us for our time or effort. If you want, then our team is willing to reach out to your medical provider to explain that your legal claim was unsuccessful. While that won’t clear away any medical debt you have, it could open up the possibility of negotiating a lower bill with your provider.

What is your track record in terms of settlements and verdicts?

Our track record is respectable, with our team successfully claiming settlements for over 2,500 clients. In general, we won’t take on your personal injury claim on a contingency fee basis if we don’t think you have a case. We’ll be honest with you upfront to ensure you don’t waste your time and money pursuing a dead end.

Do you have experience negotiating with insurance companies?

Our team of lawyers has extensive experience negotiating with various insurance companies and adjusters. We know exactly how insurance companies operate and the most common tactics they use to minimize payouts and help their bottom line. Equipped with this knowledge, we can handle even the trickiest of insurance adjusters.

How long do you anticipate it will take to resolve my case?

On average, it will take anywhere from 2–12 months to resolve your case, but it could take longer than that if you have a complex claim or complicating factors. Your case will also take longer if the other party is determined to avoid accountability or take your case to court.

How often do your cases go to trial vs. settle out of court?

Almost all personal injury cases are settled outside of court and never go to trial. Nationally, an average of only 3% of personal injury claims go to court. Our firm’s statistics are reflective of that since we’ve litigated about 100 cases in court but successfully settled over 2,500 claims outside of court.

Are there alternative dispute resolution options we can consider, such as mediation or arbitration?

Yes. Depending on the facts and circumstances surrounding your case, it might be possible to utilize resolution options like mediation or arbitration. Alternative dispute resolution is preferable when you have limited legal and financial resources and want to quickly resolve your situation outside of court. This option isn’t always best when you want to ensure you get a settlement that compensates you in full, as not all alternative dispute resolution tactics will consider all the aspects of your claim.

How does your firm handle case expenses and disbursements?

Once you receive your settlement check, our firm will pay out your case expenses and disburse any necessary payments from the money collected from your settlement. After this, we will wire you your portion of the judgment.

Can you explain your firm’s approach to litigation?

When our firm was founded back in 2011, leading lawyers Ray Kermani and Mohamad Ahmad wanted to become the best litigators in the courtroom and master the personal injury space. Most personal injury law firms take a shy approach to personal injury cases, hoping to avoid the courtroom at all costs. Our firm takes the opposite approach.
We aim to build up a rock-solid case that will withstand the rigors of the courtroom. We spend a significant amount of time building up evidence and your case upfront, and this strategy typically pays off in the long run. Not only will the other party be more likely to settle the case quickly, but you’re also likely to secure a higher overall settlement.

What role will I play in the litigation process?

Once you hire an attorney from our firm, you’ll need to talk to your attorney in detail about what happened. You may have to collect certain evidence and documentation that proves your losses, or at the very least give your attorney the authority to collect evidence for you. You’ll want to convey exactly how your injury has impacted your quality of life so that our team can properly value your case. Once your lawyer has enough information, they’ll do the leg work of compiling a solid case, filing the right paperwork, and negotiating with the other party. Throughout the process, your lawyer may need to consult with you about details, your needs, and your preferences. If your case does go to trial, then you’ll want to go with your attorney to court. Your statement about your accident will be valuable to your case.

How do you approach cases with difficult insurance companies?

When insurance companies aren’t negotiating fairly, you can rely on us to not give them much of a choice. Since we build up such a strong case with rock-solid evidence, insurance companies will have a difficult time finding a reliable legal defense as to why they shouldn’t pay. We’ll stronghold them into either settling or going to court.

How does your firm handle personal injury cases with multiple liable parties?

If multiple potentially liable parties are involved in your case, then we’ll take the time to accurately attribute a percentage of fault to each party and then fight for what each party should pay.

How does your firm determine when to settle or go to trial in personal injury cases?

Since our team takes a frontloaded approach to your case, we prepare your claim as if you will have to go to trial. We will only consider settling your case if the other party receives your claim and agrees to pay you what we think you’re entitled to under the law. If the other party isn’t willing to negotiate fairly or reasonably, then we will inform them that we will be preparing to go to court.

Do you have trial experience?

Yes. Our team has successfully litigated over 100 trials in court. While nearly all cases typically get resolved outside of the courtroom, we are prepared and ready to handle a trial if your case requires one.
